Tatse of Transformation: The Palestinian Kitchen

The Palestinian kitchen: an exploration of food, history, and culture

Saturday 24th January, 10am-1pm
Unity Wellbeing Centre, 79 Vernon St, Nelson, BB9 9DE

When a British neighbour knocked on Basma’s door to complain about the smell of onions, she invited him in, sharing maqluba, a dish first cooked by the Abasi people in the 13th century.

Since this encounter, Basma has been cooking and sharing the histories of this and other dishes, weaving in cultural and historical insights. Join her latest hands-on workshop, where cooking will be used to engage with Palestine’s history, culture, and present-day realities.
