Listen Up will see artists Caelan Salmon and Tom Washington explore the social and cultural landscape of Blackburn through a series of roadshow style, sonic pop ups in communities living close to the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. Join them to tell a story, reminisce, share what you’re passionate about, show them your favourite trainers or your grandma’s recipe, bring along your best record or family photo. From slam poetry to soundscapes, help express Blackburn through a multitude of unique and exciting sound explorations.
Sound recordings will then feature on Drift, our floating radio station on board the Bill Hunt barge.

Whether you just want to come down to discuss, or take part in our exciting slam poetry workshop, get involved and discover the power of language in expression and change. The power is in your voice! – Mill Hill Festival Saturday 1st June – ‘Acid House to Adhan’ Whether you’re a music novice or a melodic magician, we want you! Record a live song or try your hand at busking, release your inner DJ on our open turntables, or simply come along to network in the vibrant Blackburn scene; no matter what your relation with music is, the stage is yours!
