Jacqueline Donachie – National Festival of Making Commission

Over the coming weeks Artist Jacqueline Donachie will creating a film work in collaboration with the Lancashire Saw Company. 

The film will be screened on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, in sight of Imperial Mill where the factory is based, inviting audiences to experience the canal as a space where cultural activity takes place. The film, commissioned as part of the Art in Manufacturing Programme will also be presented in Blackburn town centre during the National Festival of Making weekend.

Having created the film, Beautiful Sunday for Folkestone Triennial in 2021, the artist will work again with filmmaker Andy McGregor, and Hamish Brown, for an accompanying soundtrack. The film will be created during residency dates in mid-May and shown to audiences at two locations over the Festival of Making weekend, and online.
