Enjoy a free visit to Burnley’s ‘little Downton’. Gawthorpe Hall is a Jacobean house, nestled in the shadow of Pendle Hill, home of the Shuttleworth family for over 400 years. See the original plaster ceilings, decorative panelling and luxuriant Victorian rooms showing off furniture, ceramics and portraits. And use the spiral staircase to visit the Victorian kitchen (not usually open) to see what the housekeeper is making.

The ‘jewel in Burnley’s crown’: a fascinating building, with period rooms covering several centuries of life at the hall. See the hidden spaces and learn about the history of Towneley Hall by joining in a tour. Entrance to the hall is free – but please note that car parking charges apply.
Whilst you’re there why not visit the Libertas textiles exhibition from the Natural Progression Textile Group & of course look out for the Grennan & Sperandio works within the Collection.
Weavers Triangle – Burnley
Look around the former wharfmaster’s house and canal toll office. Displays about Burnley’s textile industry, its workers, and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
