The Super Slow Way is shaping the UK’s longest linear park across a 20 mile stretch of the Leeds & Liverpool canal in East Lancashire with the communities that live and work alongside it as a unique new space for us all to use and share.
Alongside partners, we are developing new community spaces along the canal stretch for people to come together, get to know one another and enjoy a range of activities. Over the coming months we will be running a range of free workshops and activities including canoeing, archery, creative workshops, growing and cooking along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal.
One of canalside spaces we’re currently using in Blackburn, this space is based next to Jans Conference Centre, on the canal by our Homegrown/Homespun site at Higher Audley St, Blackburn BB1 1DH
Participants can park on St Paul’s Church carpark, free parking is NOT available on Jans car park. We’re also now encouraging visitors to access the Audley site through the woodland entrance on the main road (Higher Audley St).
If you’d like to find out more or to join one of our steering groups of local residents groups to help shape what happens in your community, please get in touch with ben@superslowway.org.uk
See the What’s On page for upcoming activities.
All activities are free for Blackburn residents and all are welcome!
This project is funded by the UK government through the Shared Prosperity Fund.
