Writer, playwright and performer, Avaes Mohammad, returns to his native Blackburn to reconnect with his hometown after almost 30 years.
Over the summer and autumn, Avaes will invite residents to have conversations with him aboard Drift, our floating radio station moored at Eanam Wharf, to reflect on life here in 2026 and what the town has become. The resulting chats will form a series of public podcasts which may well inform a future theatrical celebration of Blackburn and Blackburnians.
