Blackburn Almanac Making Workshop

Join artist and aspiring horticulturist Ian Halawi for a monthly workshop, exploring the seasons from our Audley space, and the Blackburn stretch of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. Learn about your local area through fauna, flora and food, and be a part of creating Blackburn’s first contemporary printed Almanac. This is an inclusive participatory session for all, incorporating everything from printmaking to recipe sharing, photography to song, and much more.

An almanac is traditionally a yearly publication with information about a specific subject such as weather forecasts and planting dates. We hope ours will be contemporary and include a variety of creative visual elements!

Starting in October, this workshop will take place on every first Wednesday of the month.

For the Audley sessions, participants can park on St Paul’s Church carpark, free parking is NOT available on Jans car park. We’re also now encouraging visitors to access the Audley site through the woodland entrance on the main road (Higher Audley St).

This project is funded by the UK government through the Shared Prosperity Fund.
