‘How To’ Use Natural Dyes

How To use natural dyes with Kirsteen McGregor

‘Discover the ancient methods of natural plant dyeing to create your own unique colour and print samples’.

Join Kirsteen McGregor and learn how to create botanical colour to dye and pattern cloth and paper. There will be a variety of dye pots available, created from natural plant materials, ready for you to experiment with dyeing silk ribbons and cotton calico. We will also explore the print technique of Hape Zome which involves pounding the pigment from leaves and flowers onto paper and cloth.

This session provides the perfect opportunity to reconnect with nature and heritage textiles crafts!

Join us at Clayton Community Centre for a series of introductory creative workshops throughout the autumn and winter.

During the next couple of months we’ll be continuing our ‘How To’ creative workshops, giving an introduction to a range of creative skills. These are FREE drop in sessions which will take place every Wednesday at Clayton Community Centre from 10am–1.30pm. These are relaxed, informal sessions: grab a brew and a biscuit and stay for as little or as long as you want

No need to book, just turn up!
