The Super Slow Way Cafe (Mill Hill Pop Ups)

The Super Slow Way team would like to invite you to come for a brew in venues around Mill Hill over the spring and summer!

Join Ben and Ian on the for a free brew and a chat. You can find out more about Super Slow Way and the activity we have planned in Mill Hill over the spring and summer. whilst spending time with your local community. Free creative activities will also be available if you’d like to join in!

Pop Up Cafe/Listen Up Dates:

– Navigation Pub Tuesday 7th May 4-8pm – The Listen Up session will be focussed on ‘Run of the Mill-town’ Have you stories of family working in the mills? What does living in a mill-town mean to you and how have things changed? How have working class terraces influenced your fashion? Do you have any recordings or anecdotes of a by-gone era of Blackburn? Clogs to kickers, work-days to day-raves, we want to hear your story!

– Mill Hill Social Club Tuesday 14th May 4-8pm – The Listen Up session will be focussed on ‘Blackburn on a plate’. A good curry on a Friday night, your mum’s Sunday dinner, a chippy tea, a pint at the navigation or a pot of tea in the old market, tripe to red stripe, bring along anything from a favourite recipe to a culinary tale to help uncover and amplify the food & drink of Blackburn!

– Mill Hill Community Centre Tuesday 21st May 1-4pm – The Listen Up session will be focussed on ‘And I didn’t know it’ Whatever you have to say, be heard! Whether you just want to come down to discuss, or take part in our exciting slam poetry workshop, get involved and discover the power of language in expression and change. The power is in your voice!

– Mill Hill Festival Saturday 1st June – The Listen Up session will be focussed on ‘Acid House to Adhan’ Whether you’re a music novice or a melodic magician, we want you! Record a live song or try your hand at busking, release your inner DJ on our open turntables, or simply come along to network in the vibrant Blackburn scene; no matter what your relation with music is, the stage is yours!
