Hyndburn Mural

Mural artist Gavin Renshaw is currently working in collaboration with students from The Hollins.

‘Wild roses thrives where the castles crumble’.

Our newly commissioned mural on the canal in Hyndburn is now complete!

Mural artist Gavin Renshaw has recently been working in collaboration with students from The Hollins to refresh the original mural on this site which was painted in 2000. To create the design Gavin and the students have considered the rise and subsequent fall of industry along the Leeds & Liverpool canal, looked at boat liveries and Brightwork associated with this key trade line and the boat families that transported goods through the industrial heartland of Britain over the last few centuries.

You can find the mural on the canal towpath in Church, Accrington near our Pocket Park, alongside William Blythe.
