We are looking for an experienced Operations and Development Manager for Super Slow Way, to play a crucial role in the delivery and development of our activity in Pennine Lancashire. This is a fixed-term contract January 2017 to December 2017.

Super Slow Way is one of Arts Council England funded Creative People and Places projects, supporting new approaches to engagement with the arts in areas where people’s involvement has been identified as significantly below the national average. It seeks to support people to experience the arts, irrespective of where they live and their social, educational or financial circumstances.

Using its great industrial heritage, dramatic landscapes and cultural diversity as inspiration and material, Super Slow Way is sparking a creative revolution on the banks of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal; inspiring new opportunities to spend our time more imaginatively, supporting existing cultural activity and encouraging new forms.

The Person

We are looking for a well organised and experienced Operations and Development Manager to work with the Director to sustain and build on the success of Super Slow Way to date.

The Operations and Development Manager will be responsible for the delivery and direction of the Operations, Finance and Business Development elements of the programme. This includes keeping the programme on track, providing regular monitoring and reporting to funders and partners, creating a positive and viable operational environment which will enable the team to flourish and supporting the Director in shaping and building the strategic positioning and financial sustainability of the organisation through partnerships and fundraising.

You will be an experienced administrator with a successful track record working within a creative environment as well as having sound financial acumen, strategic planning, operational management and excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills.

You will be a clear thinker and excellent decision maker with the leadership skills to motivate your team. Your excellent communication skills ensure you have the ability to influence others, and develop effective partnerships and collaborations.
