We’re currently recruiting volunteers to help us deliver the British Textile Biennial taking place across Blackburn, Accrington, Burnley and Pendle this Autumn.

You’ll meet new people, gain new skills and experience working in the Arts. Whether you can spare a few days or a few hours we’d love you to get involved

About the festival

The first British Textile Biennial throws a spotlight on the nation’s creativity, innovation and expression in textiles against the backdrop of the impressive infrastructure of the cotton industry in Pennine Lancashire. Throughout October 2019 we look at fabric as a means of expression; exploring textiles as a vehicle for protest and cultural identity in installations, performances and art works that take a dynamic look at our relationship with that most basic and ancient of human creations, cloth.

We are looking for volunteers for a number of different roles including hosts, promoters and hands on helpers:

Hosts: As it sounds! This role involved welcoming the public, telling them more about the event, pointing them in the right direction to anything they may need and encouraging them to fill in evaluation forms.

Hands on Helpers: A more behind the scenes role – if you’d rather roll your sleeves up and help with practical set up of events and packing away afterwards this is for you!

Promoters: Can be done from the comfort of your armchair if you prefer. This involves sharing festival news and events on your social media channels and with your friends as well as leaflet distribution and generally being a festival ambassador.

A branded British Textile Biennial T shirt
