We are offering travel expenses to artists and creatives in the Super Slow Way area who want to attend With For About.
The Super Slow Way team are delighted to support our fellow Creative People and Places arts programme Heart of Glass and Axisweb in their upcoming symposium With For About on December 4th. We are offering assistance with travel expenses for people who live and work in Blackburn, Burnley, Hyndburn, and Pendle.
What is With For About?
Heart of Glass and Axisweb are delighted to present an exciting professional development and networking opportunity for artists, producers and creatives interested in the field of social and collaborative arts practice
The event WITH FOR ABOUT: Conversations About Collaboration will include opportunities to network, as well as critical conversations led by leading practitioners in this field exploring themes including Public Art and Publics, Validation Beyond the Gallery, Working in Context and Approaches to Professional Development.
This is a sharing event and critical reflection day for artists, producers and curators from across art form working within or interested in the field of social arts practice.
- Do you work with people when creating work?
- Do your collaborators share an interest, space or place?
- Does your work respond to social and community themes, situations and contexts?
- Does your work often take place outside of traditional art spaces?
In the morning
Preceding the discussion event (and over coffee) you are invited to join us for a series of short presentations of selected work commissioned by Heart of Glass during its inaugural year, as well as a chance to network informally. This will be chaired by producer Debbie Chan and artist Claire Weetman. Full line-up to be announced shortly.
In the afternoon
Discussions and conversations with contributors including:
Chrissie Tiller, Laurie Peake, Idle Women, Joshua Sofaer, Mary McCarthy, Patrick Fox, Axisweb, Kathryn Dempsey, Anthony Schrag and Sheila Ghelani
Further details and names to be announced shortly.
In the evening
In the evening, following the conference, you are invited to join us for SCOTTEE’S CAMP at The Citadel Theatre, an evening of cabaret and comedy with a twist (and late bar).
